A passion for creating spaces

We love the Big Bend Area, and will be very happy to help you make the most of your adventure!

Distance From the Parks

Terlingua Ghosttown Rentals and RV Park is equal distance from Big Bend National and Big Bend State Park. We are situated right at the entrance of Terlingua Ghosttown.

A common misconception is that other parks are closer or at the entrance of the park. This is great and all, however, once you arrive to the park, you’ll be driving to go everywhere, dinner, to see the Ghosttown, further distances to other parks or places you want to visit.

At TGTRV.com, you’ll be able to walk the entire Ghosttown, have breakfast and or lunch at VENGA, or Poco y Mas, and a lunch or dinner at any of the other restaurants and bars located within the Ghosttown.

Final answer, is that the entrance to the parks are about 15 minutes, however you’ll still have a drive of 30 minutes or more to the first exhibit. DO NOT SPEED WITHIN EITHER PARK!

Our Services

We offer firewood, EV Charging, Water Fills, Sewer Drops, and dry camping for vans, trailers or tents.

Each RV site has water, sewer, and electric in 20, 30, and 50 amp plugs.

EV charging is not metered and is charged at 50 dollhairs per plugin.

The BnB’s include an initial 5 sticks of firewood for our guests.

We offer basic guide services, for folks that are new to the area, just find one of our friendly park hosts and they will be very happy to help you find things to look at.

Most all RV sites will fit large Campers and Motorhomes. The exception being #6 and #17 which are for shorter trailers.

Dark Sky Compliant

The entirety of The Big Bend Area, is a dark sky territory.

Please make sure you:

Dim your lights on arrival.

Extinguish your exterior lights when not in use.

Close blinds at night to prevent interior lights from exiting windows.

You can setup a telescope or use binoculars to see amazing views of stars, planets and astronomic events. We do recommend a star tour with Tres Morris at Big Bend After Dark

Safety

Make an attempt to arrive before sunset, we understand this is not always possible to do, however, there may be large animals in the road, and it is very dark out here, driving while hangry is not advisable for anyone, make sure you have snacks available for the ride!

Speaking of snacks, ensure your fire is extinguished before you walk away from it for any amount of time, a wind gust could cause the fire to reignite, and cause an unintended fire, damaging your or your neighbors’ property.

Roll up your awnings before leaving your camper unattended for any reason, even going inside to take a nap. A wind gust could rip that awning off and cause it to harpoon into your neighbor… that neighbor will likely be unhappy.

What to Bring

Be sure to bring plenty of water to drink while out on hikes. Our water in the park is potable (drinkable).

Bring loads of snacks, stuff you can carry while out on the road, and on the trails you will be hiking on.

Dress in layers, as we write this, it is 30 degrees in the morning, and then about 75 around noon in the shadows around 60, as soon as the sun sets, it gets to about 40 or so. My Advice, wear a light undershirt, with a flannel, and then a jacket on top. I wear jeans and boots. Sometimes I’ll wear lined jeans. Never sneakers or soft soled shoes. Cactus will penetrate the sole and cause an extremely uncomfortable event.

Always bring a hat and sunscreen.

There are minimal bugs.

What Else to Bring

A sense of adventure!

Terlingua, and The Big Bend Area is a place of adventure, with spotty cellular service, limited resources, and extreme remoteness, you will discover your soul! There are places you can go that no one has been for decades, and where humans have lived hundreds.. thousands of years ago. You will see places changed by the movement of the earth in extremely violent nature.

A slow down attitude,

Terlingua Time is like Island Time, or Beach Time. Restaurants move at a slower pace, most businesses have a more relaxed atmosphere. Use this time away from where you are, to re-energize your spirit. Turn off your phones, watches, and computers and enjoy the natural beauty of The Big Bend Area!
